A lot of people think you can just show up in the chair, and the rest is left to your makeup unicorn. WHile this can work, save your skin and your makeup artist the hassle and do these 5 things before your bridal beauty process begins.

  1. At the bare minimum wash your face twice daily, moisturize, and apply SPF. This will help keep away oily skin, and hydrate dry skin so makeup is as flawless as possible.

  2. Remove makeup every night before bed especially the night before your wedding day!!!! This can lead to styes which are a big no no for the wedding!

  3. Remove all makeup before showing up in the makeup artist’s chair. Removing makeup is an unnecessary step that can throw off the timeline for the beauty schedule for the bride and bridal party.

  4. Get 7+ hours of sleep per night, this can help decrease the appearance of bags underneath the eyes, but don’t worry, we pull through with color corrector, so either way, the makeup artist will have your back!!

  5. Finish up your food before heading into the makeup artist’s chair. While we’d hate for the bride or bridesmaids to starve, we can’t do our job while the jaws move so make sure you finish all your snacks before you start the beautifying process!
